No. 4 CC Battles No. 14 Trinity To A Draw

In a battle between the ranked Tigers, the No. 4 Colorado College men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw against No. 14 Trinity.

CC conceded a crucial penalty kick goal in the 16th minute, but a spirited response from the senior captain Curtis Hale leveled the match. This goal marked the end of the Tigers' impressive seven-game shutout streak, the longest in program history.

CC outshot Trinity 15-8 and held the opposing Tigers to only four shots on goal. Senior Teddy Libby led the team with four shots (two on goal)  after getting the start. Rex Karjian followed three shots (one on net).

Libby produced the first CC shot in the fourth minute. Charlie Wagner had the first real look on net with a header off a corner that Trinity goalkeeper Omkar Satpathy saved.

In the 15th minute, Karjian was called for a handball inside the CC box, which resulted in a Trinty penalty kick that Hunter Cain successfully converted to give Trinity the 1-0 lead.

Despite the score remaining unchanged for the next 27 minutes, CC continued to mount pressure on the Trinity defense. Their persistence paid off after a series of shots by Remi Maher and Will Bavier. Maher's shot was initially saved off a free kick, and then Bavier sent a powerful shot at the top of the net, only to be saved by a Trinity defender, but not before it found Curtis Hale's right foot.

It was Hale's first goal of the season and the 10th of his career.

Trinity was given a red card immediately after the goal, forcing the visiting Tigers to play a man down for the remainder of the game.

CC couldn't break the tie despite playing a man-up. In the second half, CC scored another 10 shots and held Trinity to only one.

The game ended in a 1-1 tie, and CC's record moved to 13-1-3 (8-0-1). It also ended CC's 16-game streak in SCAC play without a loss or a tie.

The Tigers will wrap up the regular season against Austin College and the University of Dallas next weekend, starting with the "Roos on Friday, Nov. 1 at 4 pm MT.
