Tigers Wrap Up Regular Season In Texas

The Colorado College volleyball team (15-8,10-2 SCAC) heads back to Texas this weekend to play their final three regular season matches before the SCAC Tournament. The Tigers will take on Texas Lutheran on Friday, Nov. 8, at 4:30 p.m., Concordia University and Schreiner on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m., and 2 p.m., respectively. All times are Central Time.

The End of the Regular Season
The Tigers currently hold the first-place spot in the SCAC Blue Division, as they look to extend their five-game winning streak. Trailing the Tigers in the Blue Division are Austin College, McMurry, St. Thomas, University of Dallas and Centenary.
 
Last Time Out
CC swept their last SCAC matchups in Texas, going 3-0 without dropping a single set over the weekend of Oct. 26. The Tigers defeated McMurry 3-0 on Oct. 26, then the University of Dallas 3-0 and Centenary 3-0 on Oct. 27.
 
Sophomore Camille Sherrill led the team with a match-high 19 kills with a career-high .529 hitting percentage in the 26-24, 25-18, 25-19 victory over McMurry. Carolyn Dormady and Brooke Brilliant followed suit with eight kills apiece, while Meghan Gannon led the team with 19 digs.
 
In the 25-19, 25-11, 25-17 victory over University of Dallas, Dormady led the way with 11 kills, followed by Sherrill with seven and Steph Brown with five. Freshman Camden Goodmen made her first career start, collecting 30 assists, and Meghan Gannon led all players with 12 digs.
 
The Tigers downed Centenary 25-10, 25-9, 25-12 as Sherrill once again led the way with a match-high 10 kills, followed by Dormady with eight and Brilliant with seven. Annie Joo collected a career high 23 assists and a match-high nine digs.
 
Sherrill Wins Weekly SCAC Award
Sherrill was named the SCAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks following the Tigers' three wins in Texas, Oct. 26-27.
 
She led the Tigers in kills against McMurry and Centenary, while hitting a career high .714 against Centenary. Sherrill collected 36 kills (4.50 per set), hit .516 and averaged 4.8 points per set in CC's three conference sweeps.
 
For the season, Sherrill is second on the team with 270 kills and third with 190 digs and 19 blocks.
 
Scouting the Opposition
Texas Lutheran enters the weekend with a 16-7 overall record and an 8-3 record in the SCAC, after upsetting 16th ranked Southwestern 3-0 this past weekend.
 
Concordia is 7-15 overall and 2-9 in SCAC play, currently sitting fifth in the Gold Division. The Tornados lost to Schreiner 3-0 last weekend at Concordia.
 
Schreiner is 12-11 overall and 4-7 in conference play, standing fourth in the Gold Division after beating Concordia 3-0 and Huston Tillotson 3-0 last weekend.
