No. 10-ranked Providence College used three second period goals and 29 saves from Philip Svedeback to defeat 8
th-ranked Colorado College, 4-3, Friday night at Schneider Arena.

Drew Montgomery opened the scoring at the 11:17 mark of the first period.
Owen Beckner took the puck down the left boards and found
Bret Link at the side of the net. Link sent a pass to Montgomery, who slid across the crease and placed a backhander past Svedeback for his fourth goal of the season.

The Friars (11-3-2) rallied for three goals in the second period, starting with Trevor Connelly evening the score just 1:57 into the frame. He took a pass from Austen May and fired a one-timer from the right circle past CC netminder
Kaidan Mbereko. Logan Sawyer put Providence ahead for the first time at the 11:56 mark after a turnover by
Max Burkholder deep in the CC zone ended up on Sawyer's stick and he beat Mbereko from the slot.

Hudson Malinoski made it 3-1 with 35.3 seconds remaining in the period with a one-timer from the high slot.

The Tigers (9-3-1) came out strong in the third period and
Chase McLane cut the Providence lead to 3-2 just 2:19 into the period. He deflected a shot from
Philippe Blais-Savoie past Svedeback for his second goal of the season.

Providence regained its two-goal advantage just two minutes later as Tomas Machu beat Mbereko from the right circle.

Gleb Veremyev made it 4-3 at the 6:34 mark of the final frame, putting home a rebound after Svedeback saved a shot by
Noah Laba, but the Tigers could not connect on a game-tying goal the rest of the way, including the final 2:13 of regulation with Mbereko on the bench in favor of an extra skater.

Colorado College, which allowed the most goals in one game this season, outshot the Friars, 32-29, including a 21-9 advantage in the third period. Mbereko finished with 25 saves and neither team converted on three power-plays.

The teams will face off again on Saturday, Dec. 7, beginning at 6 p.m. (ET).
