Tigers Edged by Whitman in Road Trip Finale

The Colorado College men's tennis team wrapped up its three-match road trip to the Pacific Northwest with a hard-fought, 5-4 loss to Whitman College Saturday evening in Walla Walla, Wash.
 
Whitman jumped out to a 2-1 lead with victories at the Nos. 1 and 2 positions. Lucas Pastor and Nate Beerman won their second straight match, defeating Diego Guzman and Braeden Thomas, 8-2, at the No. 3 spot.
 
In singles action, Andrew Kaelin won his fifth straight match at the No. 1 spot by blanking Cameron Yang, 6-0, 6-0, while Jack Delafield and Beerman won the Nos. 4 and 5 matches, respectively, in straight sets.
 
Whitman won the No. 3 and No. 6 matches in straight sets, then Lucas Huang clinched the match with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-2, victory over Pastor at the No. 2 spot.
 
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, March 9, against Midland University at Lifetime Fitness in Colorado Springs, beginning at 12 p.m.
