The Colorado College men's tennis team opened its 2024 season with a hard-fought, 4-3 loss to Western New Mexico Sunday morning in Albuquerque, N.M.

The Mustangs took the doubles point by winning the top two matches. Brendan Lock and Mohjit Grewal defeated
Andrew Kaelin and
Aiden Little, 6-4, at the No. 1 position, while Romain Malhomme and Alexandre Frigout downed
Nate Beerman and
Nick Anderson by the same score at the No. 2 spot. CC's Jak Delafield and
Hudson Chris captured the No. 3 match, 6-4, over Javier Romero and Lorenzo Buratti.

In singles action, the teams split the six contests. Kaelin and Little won the top two matches, each in straight sets, while Chris downed Buratti, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 6. Western New Mexico captured the other three in straight sets, including a 6-2, 7-6(1) victory by Grewal over Anderson at No. 5.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 10, against Seward County Community College at the Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs, beginning at 5 p.m. (MT).
