Colorado College rallied from a 3-0 deficit and
Gleb Veremyev scored the game-winning goal 11:53 into overtime to lead the 10-ranked Tigers past No. 12 Omaha, 4-3, Friday night at Ed Robson Arena in game one of the NCHC quarterfinal series.

Veremyev added two assists In the Tigers' first home playoff game since 2012. Colorado College put 50 shots on net Friday, the most in one game since Nov. 20, 2009, including a 27-2 advantage in the third period and overtime.

Veremyev took a pass from
Zaccharya Wisdom and beat Omaha's Simon Latkoczy (46 saves) on the doorstep for his 15
th goal and third game-winner of the season.

After a scoreless first period in which each team attempted eight shots, Ty Mueller opened the scoring at the 5:30 mark of the second period with a wrist shot from the left circle that beat CC goalie
Kaidan Mbereko.

Omaha doubled the lead just 21 seconds later as Jack Randl placed a wrister from the right circle past Mbereko. Jacob Slipec made it 3-0 at the 13:25 mark of the middle frame. Jacob Guevin sent the puck around the back of the Omaha net, Slipec collected it just shy of the center ice on the right side and beat Mbereko from the right circle.

Senior
Chase Foley closed the gap back to two with the second goal of his career. After Omaha's Kirby Proctor was whistled for cross checking, Foley sent a shot from the high slot that eluded Latkoczy on his stick side. Foley's other career goal was the first tally by the Tigers in Robson Arena on Oct. 8, 2021 vs. St. Lawrence.

The Tigers took advantage of a five-minute major and game misconduct call against Mueller nearly eight minutes into the third period.
Klavs Veinbergs made it 3-2 with his third goal of the season at the 9:15 mark.
Zaccharya Wisdom raced down the right side, cut in and put a shot on Latkoczy from right in front that the Omaha goalie saved but Veinbergs was right there for the rebound.

The Tigers 19
th and final shot of the third period was Laba tying the game with 49.1 seconds remaining with Mbereko on the bench for an extra attacker. Veremyev sent a pass from the left circle to Laba, who poked the puck past Latkoczy on the right side of the net.

Foley finished the game with a goal and an assist, while Wisdom added a pair of assists. Mbereko finished with 12 saves including three on Omaha's lone power-play opportunity. The Tigers, were 2-for-3 with a man advantage.

The teams will battle in game two of the NCHC quarterfinals on Saturday, March 16, at Robson Arena, beginning at 6 p.m.
