The Colorado College women's tennis team won two of the three doubles matches, but ultimately fell to Cal Lutheran, 5-4, Sunday afternoon in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

CC's No. 2 doubles team of
Christina Heffron and
Lindsay Popeo defeated Kylee Limpias and Maddy Ford, 8-6, while
Gigi Jensen and
Emmy Winter downed Gerda Jucys and Luisa Garcia, 8-7(3). The No. 1 team of
Kala Komanduri and
Avery Hickman fell in a tiebreak, 8-7(2), to Carmen Bufkin and Mina Ahmadi.

Hickman and Heffron were the only singles winners for the Tigers on Sunday. Hickman beat Garcia, 6-4, 7-5, at the No. 2 position, while Heffron routed Fatima Nemi, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 3.

Popeo stretched the No. 4 match to three sets before falling to Ahmadi, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, while Cal Lutheran won the other three matches in straight sets. Â

The Tigers wrap up their Spring Break trip on Monday, March 18, against UC Santa Cruz, beginning at 5 p.m. (PT).
