Tigers Blank UST; Move to 2-0 in SCAC

The Colorado College men's tennis team improved to 2-0 against SCAC opponents with a dominating 9-0 victory over the University of St. Thomas Friday morning in Houston, Texas.
 
The Tigers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles matches. Andrew Kaelin and Aiden Little defeated Jaime O'Shea and Pooya Tork, 8-5, at the top spot, while the No. 2 team of Nick Anderson and Nate Beerman downed Steven Kuang and Dorian Cudina, 8-3. Dominik Kaminski and Justin Boder followed suit with an 8-3 victory over Hunter Kemball Cook and Jeremiah Hoover.
 
In singles, CC (6-10, 2-0) captured four of the six matches in straight sets, led by Kaelin winning the No. 1 match, 6-3, 6-3, over Kuang. Lucas Pastor went three sets with O'Shea and posted a thrilling 6-3, 3-6, 1-0(9) victory at No. 2.
 
Little, Beerman and Jack Delafield combined to lose just five games at the No. 3-5 spots, including a 6-0, 6-0 blanking by Delafield over Cook at No. 5. Kaminski was leading the No. 6 match, 4-0, when UST's Rubin Reyes retired.  
 
The Tigers return to action against No. 6-ranked Trinity University on Saturday, April 20, in San Antonio, Texas, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CT).
