The Colorado College volleyball team opened the 2024 campaign with a pair of matches in the Pikes Peak Challenge at Reid Arena. The Tigers played tough in both, but fell to Millikin University in four sets (25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 25-13), then to 5
th-ranked UW-Oshkosh in three (25-20, 25-20, 25-23).

In the season opener against Millikin (2-0), who like the Tigers received votes in the preseason national Division III poll, sophomore
Camille Sherrill led CC with 13 kills, followed by junior
Carolyn Dormady with 10.

The Tigers bounced back after dropping the first set to win the second, thanks to four kills by Dormady, who hit for a .364 percentage in the set, but dropped the final two.

Annie Steger dished out 30 assists, while Dormady and sophomore
Meghan Gannon each posted a team-high 10 digs.

Kailee Itzenhuiser had a team-best 13 kills for Millikin, which advanced to the NCAA Tournament a year ago before falling to Cornell in the first round. Addison Oyer followed with 11 successful attacks.

In the nightcap against UW-Oshkosh, CC played tough every set but could not get past the Titans. Sherrill collected 14 kills and four digs, while Dormady had 10. Sophomore
Brooke Brilliant added nine kills while Steger had 31 assists.
Robyn Kirsch led UWO (1-1) with 12 kills, followed by Riley Kindt with 11.
"There is a lot to be excited about watching our team compete tonight," head coach
Sharon Dingman said. "Once we grasp playing gritty every point, we are going to experience a lot of success."

The Tigers are back in action with two more matches on Saturday, beginning at noon against 16
th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus and at 5 p.m., against No. 11 Transylvania.
