The three-game winning streak for the Colorado College women's soccer team ended on Sunday at the University of Denver after falling to the defending Summit League champion Pioneers 2-0.

The Pioneers controlled the game's pace for the first 45 minutes. DU dished out 13 shots, including four on net in the first half. Denver scored first in the 19th minute off a header from Ella Frost. Star freshman Michaela McGowan led the team with three points. She assisted Frost with her goal and would later score her own in the second half.
Evie Biggs and
Kaelin Woodruff produced the lone first-half shots for the Tigers. Biggs had a shot on goal in the 44th minute to attempt to knot up the score going into the break, but it was saved.
In the second half, The Tigers came out swinging and outshot the Pioneers 11-8. CC had several chances down the stretch to tie up the score after DU's Jordan Crockett was given a red card in the 62nd minute. CC played with a woman-up for the remainder of the game.
From there,
Kaelin Enga and Rose had formidable looks at the net, but their shots were missed wide.
Seven minutes after the red card, the Pioneers responded with their second goal to increase the margin.
CC kept the pressure on offensively, taking three shots in the 82nd minute, including two shots on target from Rose.
