Tigers Continue SCAC Play By Hosting Dallas, McMurry

The Colorado College volleyball team (5-6, 1-0 SCAC) continues play in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) this weekend with a pair of matches at Reid Arena. The Tigers host the University of Dallas on Friday, Sept. 27, beginning at 6 p.m., then McMurry University on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 11 a.m.

Last Time Out
The Tigers opened SCAC play on Sept. 20 with a three-set sweep over St. Thomas at Reid Arena.
 
Carloyn Dormady led the Tigers with 15 kills and Annie Steger collected a team-high 38 assists. Steph Brown and Camille Sherrill each finished the match with nine kills, while Meghan Gannon had 20 digs, followed by Steger with 13.
 

Gannon Earns SCAC Weekly Honor
Sophomore Meghan Gannon was named SCAC Volleyball Defensive Player-of-the-Week for her effort in the Tigers' three-set sweep over St. Thomas.
 
Gannon, from Cleveland, Ohio, led all players with 20 digs in Colorado College's 25-18, 25-23, 25-14 victory over the Celts last Friday, the second-most for her in a match this season. She averaged a league-best 6.67 digs per set and also added three assists in the win.
 
For the season, Gannon leads the Tigers and is 10th in the SCAC, averaging 3.72 digs per set. She is second on the team with 35 assists and 10 service aces.
 
 
Scouting The Opposition
Dallas enters the weekend with a 1-13 overall record and 1-1 in the SCAC. The Crusaders lost to Austin College, 3-0, before capturing third first victory of the season, 3-1, over Centenary last weekend.
 
McMurry is 6-5 overall and 1-1 in the SCAC after losing to Austin College, 3-1, and defeating Centenary, 3-0, last weekend.
 

Up Next
CC travels to Shreveport, La., for SCAC matches against Centenary on Saturday, Oct. 5, and Austin College on Sunday, Oct. 6. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. (CT).
