The Colorado College men's swimming and diving team earned several wins on Friday, but dropped a 138-107 decision to Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo.

"We showed up today ready to compete at a high level and our athletes delivered," head coach
Jen Buffin said. "We posted season and lifetime bests, helping us secure our strongest finish against Mines in recent history. The atmosphere on deck was electric, and our athletes rose to the moment with some incredible performances."

Edmund Davis won two individual races, while
Andrew Colgan,
Sam Allen and
Liam McCarthy each posted an individual and relay victory.

Davis captured the 200 and 500 freestyle races
Dax Sherwood followed in second place in the 200 event,

Colgan won the 100 breaststroke, Allen the 200 backstroke and McCarthy the 50 freestyle, and those three joined Sherwood on the triumphant 400 medley relay time that finished with a time of 3:30.90.

Logan Loveday, who finished second to Allen in the 200 backstroke, captured the 400 individual medley in 4:14.83.

"We set the tone with a win in the 400 medley relay, followed by a powerful 1-2 finish in the 200 free from Edmund and Dax, who stepped up from his sprint focus and dropped a lifetime best," Buffin said. "
Sam Allen was a spark for the group leading off that medley relay, then taking a commanding lead to a win in the 200 back with teammate
Logan Loveday right behind him. Logan also grabbed a lifetime best in the 400 IM.
Liam McCarthy sprinted to gold in the 50 free with a season best and helped anchor the winning 400 medley relay.
Andrew Colgan kept the momentum rolling with a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke at a season best and contributed on that medley relay as well."
