The Colorado College women's swimming team is in third place and the men in fourth after day one of the Speedo Invitational in Danville, Ky., hosted by Centre College.
 
The women captured five top-5 results on Friday, led by Julia Cox, who posted a runner-up finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.99 seconds, followed by Megan Simonson in fourth at 24.12.
 
Annie Engstrom finished third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:08.30, while the Tigers finished second in the 400 medley and 200 freestyle relays with a top-10 time in program history in each race. 
 
On the men's side, Edmund Davis produced the team's best finish with a sixth-place result in the 500 freestyle with a season-best time of 4:41.58. Sam Allen placed 10^th in the 200 individual medley after posting a season-best time of 1:54.28 in the prelims.
 
Day two of the meet is on Saturday, Nov. 22, beginning at 10 a.m. (ET).
