The Colorado College men's basketball team faced DII Colorado School of Mines in an exhibition contest on Tuesday night at Reid Arena and fell 105-72.
It was the first meeting between the two programs since Jan. 29, 2002.
Four Tigers scored in double digits, led by senior
Asher Nofziger, who finished with 12 points, six rebounds and an assist. Sophomore
Christian Drummond scored 12 points and added three rebounds and two assists. Freshman
Terrion Benson also racked up 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Freshman
TJ Satcher added 11 points, three rebounds and two assists in only 17 minutes on the floor.
CC shot 39.2 percent from the floor, including 40.00 percent in the second half. The Tigers had only seven turnovers, as did the Orediggers.
CSM shot 52.94 in the first half and led 59-32 at the break. Nofziger led the team with eight points and four rebounds in the first 20 minutes of play.
In the second half,
Terrion Benson scored all of his 12 points in only 15 minutes on the floor. The Orediggers kept a solid lead by shooting 45.00 percent in the half. CC shot 40.00 percent compared to 38.46 percent in the first half.
CSM held on to the 105-72 victory. The Tigers are back in action on Friday at WashU in St. Louis, MO.
