The Colorado College men's basketball team fell to WashU in St. Louis by a final score of 92–57 in the All-Academic Classic. Senior
Asher Nofziger led the Tigers with 22 points, seven rebounds and a steal. The Bears shot 54 percent from the floor and 40.7 percent from long range.
Freshman
Kyle Kihlberg pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds — including seven on the offensive end — and added six points, an assist, a block and a steal.
The Tigers shot 31.9 percent from the field and 30.4 percent from three. Senior
Orion Samikoglu knocked down all three of CC's made three-pointers and finished with nine points, two rebounds and an assist.
CC trailed 51–24 at the halftime break after WashU shot 63 percent in the opening 20 minutes.
The Bears held advantages in points in the paint (46–26), points off turnovers, and fast-break scoring, while the Tigers' bench contributed 24 points and continued to show activity on the offensive glass.
CC had 24 bench points led by Kihlberg and Ryan Krantz's six points.
The Tigers will play the University of Chicago in the weekend finale at noon MT on Sunday, Nov. 30.
