For the sixth time in program history, the No. 23 ranked Colorado College women's basketball team has won 20 games in a season. The Tigers needed only 22 games to match the record for most wins in a season, downing Centenary 76-45 in Shreveport, LA.
The Tigers have won nine straight games for the first time since the 2021-22 season. They have also successfully clinched first place in the Blue Division of the SCAC Standings and a first-round bye in the SCAC Tournament.
Senior
Zoë Tomlinson led the way with 26 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks and an assist. The New York native now has 17 double-doubles on the year, the third most in the nation and the most in the SCAC.
Junior
Kayla Mackel followed with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists. She made two three-pointers and also racked up three steals.
CC remained defensively dominant, holding Centenary to only 27.5 percent shooting and making only 14 field goals throughout the game. The Tiers forced 21 turnovers and had 11 steals.
The Tigers led 15-9 at the end of the first quarter behind Tomlinson,
Laura Strenk, and
Isa Nelson combining for 13 points. Strenk finished the game with eight points, four rebounds and five assists.
Nelson added seven points, including a rebound, an assist and a steal.
Mackel scored nine points in the second quarter, and CC increased its lead to as many as 19 points. The Tigers went into the half with a 38-21 advantage. In the half, the Tigers held the Ladies to 31.25 percent shooting from the floor.
In the third, the Tigers outscored the opposition 25-9, led by Tomlinson's 16 points. The senior center shot 8-8 from the charity stripe in the quarter as CC ballooned its lead to 33 points heading into the fourth.
CC cruised from there to the 76-45 victory and secured a bye in the first round of the SCAC Tournament.
