How To Listen / Watch
Both games this weekend will be broadcast live in the Colorado Springs area and Southern Colorado on KRDO NewsRadio 105.5 FM / 1240 AM with the 'Voice of the Tigers' Ken Landau and streamed on NCHC.tv. Friday's contest will be televised in the Southern Colorado region on SOCO CW.

Last Time Out
No. 19 Colorado College collected five of a possible six points with a couple of victories over Miami last weekend at Robson Arena ... On Friday, Drew Montgomery scored twice and Owen Beckner added a goal and two assists in a 6-1 victory. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead when Philippe Blais-Savoie scored an unassisted goal 4:09 into the contest with a shot from the right point that snuck past Miami goaltender Bruno Bruveris (24 saves). Montgomery scored the first of his two consecutive goals at the 6:08 mark when he knocked the puck out of the air into the net after a Miami defender blocked a shot by Ty Gallagher. Gallagher and Montgomery hooked up again at the 8:46 mark to make it 3-0. Montgomery took a drop pass from Gallagher and his initial shot was saved by Bruveris but Montgomery put the rebound in an open net. Beckner gave the Tigers a four-goal advantage 3:52 into the second period with his sixth goal of the season. The RedHawks got on the board at the 6:57 mark when Dylan Moulton collected the puck in the high slot after a pass was deflected by a Tiger defender and blasted a one-timer past CC goalie Kaidan Mbereko (23 saves). The Tigers made it 5-1 when Gavin Lindberg took a centering pass from Beckner and deposited the puck into the net from the slot for his third tally of the season at the 11:59 mark of the middle frame, then Klavs Veinbergs scored his eighth of the season to close the scoring at 3:25 of the third period, assisted by Beckner and Blais-Savoie ... On Saturday, Montgomery scored 1:49 into overtime to give CC a 5-4 victory. The Tigers survived a furious comeback by the RedHawks, who rallied from a pair of three-goal deficits and scored four goals in the third period. The Tigers led 3-0 entering the third period, but Moulton scored 4:14 into the frame to cut the lead to 3-1. Tyler Coffey scored on a breakaway at the 9:07 mark following a full ice length pass from Bret Link to push the lead back to three. Link and Veinbergs were each assessed a penalty at the 11:51 mark, then the RedHawks scored three consecutive goals in a span of 3:21, starting with a 5-on-3 tally by Colby Ambrosia at the 13:06 mark. Rihards Simanovics cut the lead to one at 14:39, then Raimonds Vitolins evened the game at the 16:27 mark. It appeared Miami took the lead with 17.5 seconds left, but Ambrosia's power-play goal was waved off after the referees deemed there was goaltender interference after CC challenged the play. The Tigers killed off the final 1:05 of Brady Cleveland's penalty to start the overtime period, then Montgomery, who scored twice in CC's 6-1 victory on Friday, collected his team-high 10th goal of the year to send Robson Arena into a frenzy.

The Coaches
Kris Mayotte is in his fourth season at the helm of the Tigers. He also was an assistant with the Bulldogs from 2008-11 and helped UMD win the NCAA Division I national title in 2011 and again in 2018. Larson led St. Cloud State to the NCAA Division I Championship game in 2021, falling to UMass, 5-0, in the final.

Laba, Mbereko and Gallagher Named Hobey Baker Nominees
Juniors Noah Laba and Kaidan Mbereko and graduate student Ty Gallagher are among 95 student-athletes nominated for the 2025 Hobey Baker Award. The Hobey Baker Award is presented annually to the collegiate hockey player who best demonstrates strength of character both on and off the ice, contributes to the integrity of his team and displays outstanding skills in all phases of the game. Consideration is given for scholastic achievement and sportsmanship. Colorado College has had two winners since the first Hobey Baker was awarded in 1981, Peter Sejna (2003) and Marty Sertich (2005).

Five Goals in a Period
CC's five goals in the third period at Arizona State on Jan. 25 marked the first time the Tigers scored five goals in a period since Oct. 13, 2023, a 7-3 victory over Union (2nd period), and the first time with five in the third period since an 8-2 win over Western Michigan on Feb, 23, 2019.

Pair of Three-Goal Comebacks Very Rare

Montgomery Named NCHC Forward of the Week
Sophomore Drew Montgomery was named the KJ Branding NCHC Forward of the Week after the Tigers swept Miami last weekend at Robson Arena. Montgomery powered the Tigers to the pair of wins with a three-goal weekend, including scoring both game-winners. In Friday's 6-1 win, he scored two goals in a span of 2:42 in the first period to turn a 1-0 lead into a 3-0 lead, with his first goal serving as the game-winner. The next night, Montgomery scored the game-winner 1:49 into overtime to give CC a 5-4 victory on his only shot on goal of the game. He had four shota and was a +3 for the weekend.

Most NHL Draft Picks on Roster in Two Decades
