Tigers Produce Second-Best Ever Fall Season in Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

After another very strong fall season, Colorado College sits in 36th place in the final Fall 2024 Division III Learfield Directors' Cup Standings, the school's second-best fall campaign since Division III standings began in 1995.

Of the 431 schools competing under the NCAA Division III banner, 181 of those schools registered points in the final Directors' Cup standings for the 2024 fall season. Colorado College collected 155.5 points, placing in the top eight percent among all Division III schools. During the fall of 2024, the Tigers had two teams and one individual participate in their respective NCAA National Championships.

Beginning in 1993, the Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Throughout the course of the year, points are awarded based on a school's finish in up to 18 sports - nine men and nine women - in NCAA Championships.

"This is another extremely strong fall season pointing to national achievement and relevance," CC's Vice President and Director of Athletics Lesley Irvine said. "This is the second straight fall we have been in the top 8 percent of all Division III athletic programs. Our consistent commitment to chasing championships across all programs is evident. We are especially proud of the teams and individuals who represented us in the NCAA postseason this past fall."

The women's cross country team, led by SCAC Coach of the Year Alex Nichols, advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships for the fourth straight season and posted a program-best sixth-place finish, good for 73.5 points. Isabel Olson and Sydney Rankin were named All-Americans.

Head coach Scott Palguta and the men's soccer team advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships for the second consecutive season before falling to Claremont in the second round. The Tigers collected 50 points and finished 20th in the final United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 Poll.

Sophomore Will Shuflit qualified for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships after winning the SCAC individual title and placing fifth at the West Region Meet. He earned All-America honors with a 30th-place result at the national meet, good for 30 points in the Director's Cup standings.
