Announced on Friday, Aug. 1, the Colorado College men's soccer team is a recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024 season. 
 
CC had a team GPA of 3.80, the second-highest among all NCAA men's soccer programs, regardless of division. 
 
"What a group," head coach Scott Palguta said. "The seniors led the way in all facets last year, but I was very impressed with the maturity shown by the underclassmen to find the proper balance between their academic and athletic commitments. This recognition is the icing on the cake for an extraordinary team."
 
A total of 713 soccer teams (290 men, 423 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year. Of that total, 156 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
 
The award caps a stellar season for the Tigers that saw 25 players be named to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll. 
 
Graduated seniors Alexander Ward, Will Bavier, Curtis Hale and junior Rex Karjian were named College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans, the most of any DIII team. 
 
CC's off-the-field success matched the on-the-field success. The Tigers ended the season with a 16-3-3 record, a SCAC regular season title and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
