Will Jones of Tiger Men's Soccer Earns SCAC Character and Community Nod

WILL JONES OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior on the men's soccer team from Colorado Springs, Colo., has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Character and Community Male Student Athlete of the Week for the week beginning October 12th.

The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

Will has been recognized as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character & Community Athlete of the Week, honoring his commitment to service, leadership and character development both on and off the course.

Will has donated a great deal of time while at CC to the Special Olympics initiatives in the Colorado Springs areas, working at several field day events as well as participating with the Switchbacks Unified Soccer Team while they were on campus this fall.

One of the most impactful things that Will gets to do, he says, is give back to the community that he grew up in.

"The community gives so much to me, that I need to try and give back to it. Being from Colorado Springs, I want to give back to this community and help connect Colorado Springs to the CC community as a whole."

Outside of school and soccer, Will enjoys oil painting, skiing, and hitting the golf course. He enjoys camping and hiking as well as just spending time with his family and friends when he can.

When he looks ahead, Will plans on remaining at Colorado College past his scheduled graduation to use his last year of soccer eligibility, while beginning his master's degree in analytics. His goal is to enter the workforce in sports performance analytics, or sports business analytics.
