Paced by a second-place finish and school-record tying time from senior
Alison Mueller-Hickler, the Colorado College women's cross country tied its best result ever at the season-opening UCCS Rust Buster Meet with a second-place result Saturday in Monument Valley Park.

Mueller-Hickler, who posted CC's best individual result ever at the Rust Buster, posted a 5K time of 17 minutes, 34 seconds, equaling the school record set by Gretchen Grindle during the 1999 Division III Cross Country Championships.

Charlie Flint followed in ninth place with a time of 17:58, while senior
Abby Goodfried (18:39), freshman
Ellie Ottem (19:00) and junior Mary Cate Kiser (19:08) placed 23
rd, 32
nd and 35
th, respectively, to round out the Tiger scoring.

Colorado College was the only Division III school at the meet.

"We ran some very fast times for this point in the season," head coach
Alex Nichols said. "Seeing both Alison and Charlie ahead of our top runner from 2024 was really impressive. Today was an encouraging way to start the season."
