Pooley Sets School and Pool Record To Open CC Classic

Junior diver Keller Pooley opened the 27th annual CC Classic by posting a school, pool and meet-record score of 514.25 points in the 3-meter event Friday night at Schlessman Natatorium.

Pooley broke the previous 11-dive record of 484 points, set by Mary Rose Donahue in 2017. In addition, Pooley's score is an NCAA regional qualifier.

Freshmen Julia Tilson (280.3 points) and Hazel Ryder (246.3) finished second and third, respectively.

The only swimming event Friday night was the 1650 freestyle. Freshman Annie Engstrom won the race with a time of 18:12.06, followed by junior Alyssa Tunggal in third place in 18:59.32.

The meet resumes on Saturday, Jan. 17, with swimming prelims at 9 a.m., followed by the 1-meter diving at 1 p.m., and swimming finals at 5 p.m.
