87 Years of Tiger Hockey
This season marks the 87th year of varsity ice hockey at Colorado College and 13th season as a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. CC was a charter member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (1951-52) for 62 seasons before joining the NCHC with seven other schools prior to the 2013-14 campaign.

The Tigers dropped a pair of games at (rv) Augustana last weekend ... On Friday,
Bret Link and
Connor Hvidston each collected a goal and an assist, but Augustana scored a shorthanded breakaway goal early in the third period to give the Vikings a 3-2 victory. Augustana's Colton Friesen opened the scoring 4:54 into the contest. Link tied things up with his fifth goal of the season at the 17:28 mark of the first period. Hvidston sent the puck across the crease in front of Viking goalie Christian Manz and an Augustana defenseman had a beat on the puck, but Link lifted his stick and put the puck in the net before Manz could recover. Hvidston gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead with his second goal of the season at the 5:24 mark of the second period.
Drew Montgomery's one-timer from the left circle caromed off the back boards right to Hvidston, who found the open net from the opposite side, marking the first multi-point game of his career. The Vikings drew even at 8:47 of the middle frame when Brett Meerman put a rebound past Mbereko on the power play, then Cole Burtch notched the game-winner with a shorthanded breakaway goal 1:24 into the third period ... On Saturday,
Brayden Schuurman and
Philippe Blais-Savoie scored CC, but Augustana secured the weekend sweep with a 4-2 victory. Hayden Hennen opened the scoring with 1:13 remaining in the first period when his wrist shot from the right point found its way past a screened Mbereko. The Vikings took a 2-0 lead within the first minute of the second period with their second shorthanded breakaway of the weekend. Hunter Bischoff took a lead pass from Jacob Jastrzebski and beat Mbereko just 35 seconds into the middle frame. Will Howard made it 3-0 at the 9:45 mark of the second period, scoring on a partial breakaway. The Tigers, who outshot Augustana 22-5 in the second period, got on the scoreboard when Schuurman scored his fourth of the season with a wrist shot from the left circle that cleanly beat Manz at 15:58 of the frame.
Gavin Lindberg collected his eighth assist of the season, while
Mats Lindgren posted his first career collegiate point. Blais-Savoie then cut the deficit to 3-2 with his fourth goal of the campaign at 2:41 of the third period. After an Augustana player flipped the puck out of its own zone, Blais-Savioe caught it at center ice, moved to the right and fired a backhander from the right circle over the left shoulder of Manz. Hennen sealed the game for Augustana with an empty-net goal in the final minute of the contest with the Vikings on the power play.
The Coaches
Kris Mayotte is in his fifth season at the helm of the Tigers. He came to Colorado College after serving two years as an assistant coach at the University of Michigan, and was an assistant coach for Providence College when the Friars won the NCAA Division I title in 2015. Mayotte was the NCHC Coach of the Year following the 2023-24 campaign … Dane Jackson is in his first year as head coach at his alma mater. He spent the previous 19 years behind the bench at UND, serving as an assistant coach before elevating to associate head coach prior to the 2015-16 season. He played for UND from 1988-92.

Colorado College and North Dakota have met 275 times with UND holding a 174-89-12 advantage in the seriesHowever, the TIgers own a a 62-61-4 advantage in Colorado Springs. Colorado College is 5-1-1 in the last seen games against the Fighting Hawks.
Mats Lindgren Added to 2025-26 Roster
Defenseman
Mats Lindgren has been added to the 2025-26 roster, effective immediately. Lindgren, a fourth-round pick (#106 overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2022 NHL Draft from North Vancouver, B.C., most recently played during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 21 points (7g,14a) in 56 games for the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL and appearing in seven games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. Prior to that, he played five seasons in the WHL between the Kamloops Blazers and Red Deer Rebels, collecting 129 points (24g,105a) in 220 games.
Björck Wins Gold at World Junior Championship
Freshman Wilson Björck won a gold medal with Team Sweden at the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship. Team Sweden defeated Czechia, 4-2, in the final Monday in St. Paul, Minn. Björck is the second Colorado College player to win gold at the World Junior Championship, joining 2006 graduate Brett Sterling, who helped Team USA win its first title in 2004. The winger from Stockholm, Sweden, appeared in three games for Team Sweden during the '26 tournament, including the 4-3 overtime semifinal victory over Finland and the final.
Tiger Tales
The Tigers are sixth in the country with 695 shots on goal and 10th with 34.8 shots per game this season ... They lead the NCHC and are third in the nation in faceoff winning percentage (54.8%) ...
Klavs Veinbergs is second in the NCHC with 245 faceoff wins and fifth with a 59.9 faceoff win percentage ... Six of CC's last seven games have either been a one-goal result or a tie.
Most NHL Draft Picks on Roster in Program History
With the addition of
Mats Lindgren, the 2025-26 roster has 10 players that have been drafted by the NHL. That ties for the most on a roster in program history, joining the 2003-04 and '04-05 rosters.
Oh Brother
Freshmen Tomas and
Mateo Mrsic are the 21st set of brothers to play hockey together at Colorado College and the first since Cody (2012-16) and Trey Bradley (2015-19) during the 2015-16 season. Other prominent brothers to lace their skates up at the same time in Colorado Springs include the only two NHL first-round draft picks from CC, Jaden (St. Louis, 2010) and Rylan Schwartz played together from 2010-12, while Mark Stuart (Boston, 2003) played two years with each of his older brothers, Mike from 2000-02 and Colin from 2002-04. Marty Sertich, the 2005 Hobey Baker winner, and his brother, Mike, played together at CC during the '04-05 campaign.

CC to Have 15 Games Televised This Season
Colorado College announced that 15 games will be broadcast live on television this season, including 12 games by partner SOCO CW. SOCO CW is available to viewers throughout Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Southern Colorado. In addition, KRDO-13 (ABC) in Colorado Springs will televise two games.
Season Five at Robson Arena
Never in the storied 80-plus years history of Colorado College Tiger Hockey had the team played its home games on campus. Thanks to the generosity of donors, including former CC hockey player Ed Robson '54 the school's Board of Trustees, that changed on October 8, 2021, when the Tigers and St. Lawrence battled in the first regular-season game at Ed Robson Arena. Colorado College was one of nine Division I teams to surpass capacity on a per game basis last season at 106.7 percent. The capacity of Robson Arena is 3,407 and CC averaged an attendance of 3,634 in its 17 home games.
