Tigers Down LeTourneau On Senior Day

Colorado College celebrated Senior Day with a hard-fought 75-73 victory over LeTourneau on Sunday afternoon at Reid Arena, building momentum heading into the SCAC Tournament.

The win marked an emotional afternoon for the Tigers' senior class and carried added significance as CC defeated the Blue Division's No. 1 seed in the regular-season finale.

CC led for most of the contest, taking a 42-33 advantage into halftime behind strong interior play and rebounding dominance. The Tigers stretched the margin to as many as 13 points early in the second half before LeTourneau mounted a late comeback attempt in the closing minutes.

Senior Asher Nofziger delivered a historic Senior Day performance, finishing with 14 points and a new single program record 20 rebounds — including 17 defensive boards — to anchor CC's control of the game. Nofiger broke his own record of 19 rebounds that he set last season.

Senior Russell MacFarlane matched Nofziger with 14 points and seven rebounds, while junior Christian Drummond added 11 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting performance. Senior Terrion Benson provided a spark off the bench with 10 points and five rebounds. Senior Orion Samikoglu added five points and six rebounds in 29 minutes on the floor.

CC dominated the glass throughout the afternoon, holding a decisive 52-33 rebounding advantage while outscoring LeTourneau 42-34 in the paint.

The Yellow Jackets made a late push, cutting the deficit to two points in the final minute, but CC secured key defensive stops down the stretch to preserve the victory.

Teigan Edwards led LeTourneau with 18 points.

With the win, CC heads into the SCAC Tournament riding strong momentum and will play Centenary on Friday, Feb. 27 at 11 a.m. MT in Conway, Arkansas.
