The Colorado College women's tennis team opened the 2026 spring season with a pair of gave everything it had Saturday but fell just short to Division II Colorado Mesa, 4-3, in Grand Junction, Colo.  
 
The Tigers, ranked 35^th in Division III, dropped a 6-1 decision to Division I Utah Tech in the morning match. After winning all three doubles matches, Utah Tech won the first five singles matches in straight sets.
 
Lindsay Popeo captured the only singles win for CC, defeating Ilse Ortega, 6-3, 7-6(2), at the No. 6 position.
 
In the afternoon match, the Tigers fell to Colorado Mesa, 5-2.
 
Aspen Young and Lucia Moravek won the No. 1 doubles match over Devyn Rodriguez and Jade Brilhante, 6-2, but CC lost the other two matches.
 
Ally Lowe and Kala Komanduri captured singles wins against the Mavericks. Lowe downed Valentina Gonzalezm 6-1, 7-5, at the No. 2 position, while Komanduri rallied to defeat Brilhante, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0(6).
 
The Tigers return to action on Thursday, March 12, against McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, the first of four SCAC matches in four days.
