Tigers Score Season-High 24 Goals On SJC

Junior Matt Hudson scored a season-high five goals and added two assists to lead Colorado College to a dominant 24-4 victory over Saint Joseph's College (Maine) on Tuesday evening at Washburn Field.

CC produced a season-high 16 different goal scorers in the victory while recording its highest goal total since April 7, 2024. The 20-goal margin of victory was the Tigers' largest since a 22-1 win over Anderson in the HCLC Tournament semifinals on April 28, 2023. The win also marked CC's fifth in a row, the program's longest winning streak since a seven-game stretch during the 2023 season.

Hudson paced the offense with seven points, while junior Aidan Niklaus added four points on two goals and two assists. Junior Wyatt Furda recorded three points on two goals and an assist, and freshman Jake Andreski scored three goals. Sophomore Brooks Power added three assists to help drive the CC attack.

The Tigers seized control immediately, scoring eight goals in the opening quarter while holding Saint Joseph's scoreless. Freshman Harrison Yu opened the scoring before Furda and Hudson added goals during the early surge. First collegiate goals from sophomore Jake Panzer and sophomore Quinn White helped push the lead to 8-0 after the first period.

CC continued the pressure in the second quarter, scoring six more times to build a commanding 14-1 halftime advantage. Hudson recorded a hat trick in the opening half as the Tigers consistently capitalized on offensive possessions.

The Tigers maintained their momentum in the second half with four goals in the third quarter and six more in the fourth as the scoring continued to spread throughout the lineup.

Several Tigers recorded their first collegiate goals during the victory, including freshman Amos Hexamer, freshman Grayson Goldin, freshman Gus Townley, junior Austin Yu, sophomore Emmett Heissan, Panzer, redshirt junior Jimmy Van Metre and White.

CC dominated statistically throughout the contest, outshooting Saint Joseph's 60-19 and holding a 41-23 advantage in ground balls.

Three different goalkeepers saw action in the victory. Senior Robert Spence started and earned the win, while sophomore Jackson Lesher and freshman Sam Rich also logged minutes in goal as CC limited Saint Joseph's to just four goals.

The Tigers improved to 5-1 on the season with the victory.
