The Colorado College men's tennis team dropped its second straight match to a nationally-ranked team Thursday, falling 7-0 to 31
st-ranked Cal Tech in Pasadena, Calif.
Cal Tech swept the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.
Lenny Lehmitz and
Sam Dilworth lost to Eric He and Andrew Zabelo, 6-1, at the top spot, while
Dominik Kaminski and Juston Boder fell 6-4 to Constatin de Pradenne and Tejas Ram at No. 2.
Nick Anderson and
Sam Lessard put up a good fight before falling to Michael Gao and David Jim, 7-5, at the No. 3 spot.
The Tigers dropped all six singles matches, but Lehmitz took Ram to three sets at the No. 3 position before falling, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0(7).
Hudson Chris battled Gao to a first-set tiebreak, but ended up losing, 7-6(5), 6-4, at the No. 5 spot.
The Tigers (4-3) return to action on Friday, March 20, against Whitman College in Los Angeles, Calif., beginning at 8:30 a.m. (PT).
