The Colorado College men's tennis team captured its first SCAC tournament title and earned its first berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament in program history Sunday with a 7-0 victory over Concordia University in the SCAC Championship Match.

The Tigers (14-6), who had to wait a while to celebrate as drizzle postponed the match several times and it finally finished in San Antonio, took an early 1-0 lead by winning the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches.
Nick Anderson and
Sam Lessard opened with a 6-4 victory over Steven Scholz and Jake Riggs at the No. 3 position, then
Lenny Lehmitz and
Sam Dilworth defeated Kade Talbot and Aaron Griffin, 7-5, at the No. 2 spot to clinch the point. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

CC then won three singles matches in straight sets to earn its second conference championship in program history and first since the 1956 team won the Rocky Mountain Conference title. Lehmitz started things off with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Daniel Beckles at the No. 2 position, then
Hugo Vohmann downed Talbot, 6-3, 6-4 for a a 3-0 lead.

Sam Lessard clinched the team match with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Diego Garcia at the No. 6 spot.
