Colorado College Athletics

Colorado College (2-2-1) played to a scoreless draw against the University of Denver (0-3-1) on Thursday at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. The Tigers recorded four shots on goal, while their defense held the Pioneers to just one shot on target.

First Half 

- Denver's Caitlin Staats had the first attempt of the match at 9:14, sending a shot out top right. 

- At 18:12, Kit Mooney came close for the Pioneers, hitting the right woodwork. 

- The Tigers responded with a shot by Kendall Memoly at 18:56, but it missed the mark. 

- Ella Ashouri and Kate Pulley both challenged Denver's goalkeeper, Lucy Garnsey, with shots at 27:51 and 27:57, respectively, but Garnsey saved both attempts. 

- The half concluded with a scoreless draw, with both teams unable to convert their opportunities.

Second Half 

- The Tigers had an opportunity early with Chloe Bunton's shot at 48:11, but it went over the goal. 

- Persistent pressure from the Tigers was marked by a sequence of shots, including Ella Ashouri's attempt that was saved by Denver's Lucy Garnsey at 86:16. 

- At 65:18, Tyler Rose broke the deadlock, scoring with an assist from Finley Schoenbeck, putting the Tigers ahead. Denver, however, challenged the play for a handball in the box, which disallowed the Tigers strike.

- The Pioneers had a couple of late chances, notably a shot by Caitlin Staats that hit the woodwork at 85:45, but could not find the equalizer.

Regan Wallace recorded a shutout with one save over 90 minutes, effectively anchoring the defense. Chloe Bunton contributed offensively with four shots, one of which was on goal. Ella Ashouri also added four shots, with two on target, posing a consistent threat. Kate Pulley managed to get her sole shot on goal, contributing to the team's attacking efforts.

The Tigers hold a record of 2-2-1. The Pioneers stand at 0-3-1 for the season.

Looking ahead, the Tigers will travel to face South Dakota State on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 6 p.m. at a venue in Brookings, South Dakota.
