Despite a season-high 19 kills by senior

rd-ranked Colorado College volleyball team had its seven-match winning streak snapped in a five-set loss to Texas Lutheran in the SCAC opener Saturday in Seguin, Texas.

The Tigers rallied after losing the first set, 25-14, to win the next two, 25-19, 2-15 for a 2-1 lead. However, the Bulldogs took the last two sets, 25-17 and 15-12, to hand CC its first defeat since Sept. 4.

Brilliant led all players with her 19 kills, just one shy of her career high. She continued her outstanding efficiency by committing only four errors for a .417 hitting percentage. Fellow senior
Camille Sherrill had 12 kills, followed by sophomore
Grace Berry with eight.

Annie Joo tied her season high with 51 assists, along with nine digs and pair of kills. Senior libero
Meghan Gannon collected a season-high 24 digs, followed by freshman
Amanda Cullen with a career-high 20. Gannon also led the Tigers with two service aces.

The Tigers (8-2, 0-1 SCAC) continue conference play next weekend with three matches in Irving, Texas. They are scheduled to face Centenary (12:15 pm) and LeTourneau (5 pm) on Saturday, Oct. 3, then Austin College on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 1:30 pm CT.
