Box Score Colorado College defeated UC Davis 2-1 on Sunday at Stewart Field. Bella Stewart scored off Charlotte Strabel's assist at 87:40 to break a 1-1 tie. This marked Stewart's first game-winning goal of the season.
 
First Half
- UC Davis had the first major chance when Ashley Brewer hit the top woodwork at 4:19, while Colorado College put its first shot on frame through Kendall Memoly at 12:06.
- Colorado College built pressure midway through the half, with Nadia Cassamajor and Chloe Bunton both hitting the top woodwork and Sophia Mayne forcing a save from Piper Wilkison at 35:08.
- The final stretch included multiple fouls and a UC Davis yellow card before Colorado College earned a corner at 44:09, but the half ended scoreless.
 
Second Half
- Colorado College withstood a UC Davis push from 51:41 to 56:56 that included three corner kicks and a Regan Wallace save, then moved ahead 1-0 at 59:29 when Charlotte Strabel scored off assists from Sophia Mayne and Bella Stewart. It was Strabel's first goal of the season.
- Colorado College continued to create chances, including a Pressly Taylor shot saved in the 79th minute and another Stewart attempt in the 84th, before Karla Sandoval scored from Charlotte Henness at 85:24 to pull UC Davis even at 1-1.
- Strabel put another shot wide at 86:16, and Stewart put Colorado College back in front at 87:40 off assists from Strabel and Nadia Cassamajor to finish the 2-1 win.
 
Bella Stewart scored the game-winning goal, added an assist and finished with three shots. It was her first assist of the season. Charlotte Strabel also recorded a goal and an assist while matching Stewart with three shots. Sophia Mayne tallied an assist and put one of her two shots on goal. Regan Wallace played all 90 minutes in goal and made one save.
 
Colorado College registered five shots on goal, exceeding its season average of 4.5, and recorded a season-high of four assists in the game. The team has scored at least two goals in two consecutive games this season. Colorado College is 4-4-3 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play. UC Davis is 2-7-2 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play.

Thoughts on the game.
I told our team we've been a little bit flat the two first halves in games on Sundays, the past couple of weeks, so we're trying to come out with better energy and effort. But, with that energy and effort, we struggled a little bit with composure on the ball and just a little bit of sloppy play. I do appreciate that we did come out with more energy and effort, but I thought Davis presented a really good problem for us. We made some subs at the end of the first half and we started to kind of turn that momentum, which I loved, and second half, everybody played better. We had more control of the ball. They picked up a red card, which obviously helps us in terms of getting more time and on the ball to make good decisions, and had a good first goal, and then [when UC Davis scores] it's a bummer, right? We have to learn how to kill out a game, because Davis never gave up, and that's one thing about them is they're hardworking. They get a corner kick and get a late goal, but, great response by our group, right? We know it's important to pick up points at home in the conference race and so we just really appreciate that we found a way to win.

Thoughts on the team staying with it after a good first half effort without a goal.
We just love the resilience. Grit is a huge value for us and it shows up in every game. I think it's a way we are going to try to win a championship or get into the playoffs for us. And so I do appreciate that about them that even if we're not 100% and everything's not going our way, we are fighting and we play with heart.

Thoughts on strong conference start, and 4-1-1 home record.
We always talk about, how we want to be really good at home and really hard to play at home, and I think we're starting to establish that this season. I really love that about our team.

Looking ahead to Nevada.
For us, notoriously Nevada has been a hard place to play. We have to play on their football turf with a ton of lines on there, and we've started off a little bit slow against them. So, the idea is to try to take the momentum from this weekend and build off of it.
