J. JUAN REID ARENA
Named after the late J. Juan Reid, longtime faculty member, historian and director of athletics at Colorado College, Reid Arena is the home court for CC’s volleyball and basketball teams.
The facility features seating for approximately 1,000 spectators with stands on both sides of the main surface as well as above the east end zone. It is equipped with courtside Internet access, telephone service for visiting radio broadcasts, and six retractable backboards.
Located within the El Pomar Sports Center, which underwent a $27 million renovation and expansion that was completed in spring of 2013, the newly configured arena opened in time for the Tigers volleyball team to compete there in September 2012.
Directions
Take I-25 to exit 143. Turn east (away from mountains) on Uintah Street, and proceed up the hill about a quarter mile to Cascade Avenue. Turn right (south) on Cascade to Cache La Poudre. Turn right (west) on Cache La Poudre and down the hill to the El Pomar Sports Center, the third and final building on the right. Parking is on the street and very limited near the facility. Additional parking is available just to the south on Dale Street or in the Monument Valley Park lot across the creek to the west. Walk up the steps to the El Pomar Sports Center’s main entrance facing south, and once inside the doors, make an immediate left to access the gym.
