That season, Abruzzini helped senior Connor Rice become an honorable mention USILA All-American, the first in program history. Rice also was the MAAC Player of the year and a North/South All Star.
In 2012, his first season at Marist, Abruzzini directed the extra-man unit which ranked sixth in Division with a 46 percent success rate. He also participated in recruiting, film breakdown, film exchange, scouting reports, overseeing student-athletes academic progress and a multitude of other duties within the program.
Abruzzini coached at Marywood University in 2011 after spending the previous four years at Saint Michael's College.
Abruzzini earned a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2006 from the Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University, where he was a two-year starter and team captain during his senior season.
