Since beginning his coaching career in 2017, Atencio has coached several local youth club teams in the Colorado Springs area.
Atencio’s resumé includes coaching box travel teams with Denver Elite and The Blizzard for CCBLL as a part of the National Collegiate Box Series.
He played college lacrosse at Cleveland State and Colorado College as a defender. Atencio was a three-year team captain at Cleveland State and led the team in 2021 with 17 caused turnover and finished seventh with 28 ground balls. At Cleveland State, he had the second-most caused turnovers in program history.
