Tigers claim fourth at Fort Hays State Open

Colorado College turned in another impressive showing by taking fourth at the Fort Hays State University Tiger Open in Hays, Kan. 

Jackson Brainerd paced the Tigers with a season-best time of 25:04.12, good for a sixth-place finish. Brainerd has finished in the top 10 and led CC at all four events this season.

Dan Kraft also recorded in a season-best 25:26.90 on the 8K course en route to a 13th-place finish. Max Gerken broke the 26-minute mark with a time of 25:58.58 to claim 21st place, while David Wilder and Daniel Alvarado closed out the Tigers scoring by finish just under six seconds apart in 31st and 33rd place, respectively.   

Colorado School of Mines won the team title with 21 points, followed by Garden City Community College (62), Fort Hays State (82) and Colorado College (104).

The University of Colorado's Joe Bosshard won the individual title with a time of 24:09.73.

Colorado College will enjoy a week off before returning to action Oct. 24 when they defend their back-to-back titles at the NAIA Mid-State Classic at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.
