Matt Fechter gave Colorado College an early lead, but Carleton College came from behind to defeat the Tigers, 3-1, in the final home game of the season on Sunday at Washburn Field.
Fechter's diving header off a Jordan Reese corner kick put the Tigers ahead 12:58 into the game, but that was the only ball they would get past goalkeeper Pete Semmer.
Wes Elfman tied the game in the 33rd minute when he snagged an errant pass at the top left edge of the penalty pox and sent a low shot past CC goalkeeper Brian Engle that found the net just inside the far post.
The Knights took the lead when Tim Wills sprang Brett Adelman on a run toward the left post and the senior midfielder slid the ball past Engle.
Courtney Morris added an insurance goal in the 77th minute when Elfman hit the crossbar from 25 yards out and Morris pounced on the rebound an instant before Engle arrived to scoop it up.
Colorado College had two excellent scoring chances in the second half. Fechter put a header just over the crossbar in the 76th minute, and Semmer made a diving stop on a shot by Trevor Cobb from 15 yards out with 4:15 remaining in the game.
Semmer made five saves while improving to 10-3-0 in goal. Engle stopped six shots, but saw his record slip to 5-5-1.
The Knights, 14-3-0, finished with an 18-15 advantage in total shots and a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.
The Tigers, 8-7-1, return to action this Friday when they play the first of four consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road games at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn.
