Tigers drop season finale at Southwestern

Senior guard Nate Brodman made three of four three-point attempts and finished with a team-high 13 points, but its wasn't enough to get the Tigers a victory in their final game of the 2008-09 season.

Jonathan Brown had 19 points and 10 rebounds as Southwestern University avenged its loss to Colorado College during the first weekend of conference play with a 74-59 victory over the Tigers on Sunday in Georgetown, Texas.

CC finished the season with a 5-20 overall record and a 4-11 mark in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Pirates improved to 16-9 overall and 7-8 in conference play, and will face DePauw University in the first round of the SCAC Tournament in Conway, Ark.

The Tigers were within striking distance after Brodman's three pointer with 9:43 trimmed CC's deficit to 51-44. Southwestern responded with a 16-5 run during the next 5:16 to stretch its lead to 18 points and the Tigers were never able to get closer than 13 points the rest of the way.

Jarrell Sweet had 12 points, four assists and four steals, while Lance Jacobs added nine points. Brady Ohlsen led CC with eight rebounds.

Ohlsen led the Tigers in both scoring and rebounding this season, averaging 14.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

Jacobs completed his career tied for No. 16 with 992 career points and No. 17 with 153 assists.

Brodman finished No. 18 with 976 points and No. 6 with 179 career three pointers.
