Encouraged and invigorated by an inspired 6-5 victory over the third-ranked University of Wisconsin at home last Saturday night, Colorado College takes aim at more big points in the WCHA this week when the Tigers make the long trip north for a two-game series with the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Faceoff at Sullivan Arena is 7:07 p.m. (AT) Friday and Saturday.
Both games will be televised live in Southern Colorado, starting at 9 p.m. Mountain Time, on
KXTU The CW 57 (Comcast channel 7 in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, as well as 4 in Trinidad); DirecTV, DISH and over-the-air on channel 57; Bresnan Cable channel 12 for Canon City, LaJunta and Walsenburg; Baja Broadband channel 15 on Fort Carson; and Peterson Broadband channel 7 on Peterson AFB).
CC, ranked as high as No. 7 in the national polls this week, has won seven of its last eight decisions against the Seawolves in Anchorage after splitting there last season. The teams also split at the World Arena earlier this campaign.
The Tigers, 13-8-3 overall, currently are third in the WCHA standings with a 9-6-3 mark in league play. They trail front-running Minnesota Duluth by four points and are just one ahead of St. Cloud State and Wisconsin, which are tied for fifth.
UAA, which won twice (6-2 and 5-4) at Michigan Tech last week, improved to 8-13-1 overall and 6-11-1 in conference play, good for eighth place.
