Collier Clegg reached the 20-point mark for the third time, but the Tigers had their worst shooting night of the season on their home court and came out on the short end of an 89-62 decision against Centre College on Friday night at Reid Gymnasium.
The Colonels shot a sizzling .529 from the floor and steadily pulled away. Centre led 44-23 after 20 minutes and CC never got closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
The Tigers pulled to within 68-56 when Clegg scored with 6:44 remaining, but any thoughts of a comeback quickly ended when the Colonels answered with 10 consecutive points to re-gain the momentum.
Chelsea Goodman led four players in double figures with a game-high 25 points, making five of seven shots from the floor and 12 of 15 free throws.
Maggie Prewitt had 19 points for Centre, while Lauren Huter scored 15 and Amanda Stovall added 11.
Collier Clegg led the Tigers with 20 points, while Alyssa Aldaz scored 12. Aldaz had a game-high nine rebounds.
Colorado College shot just .231 during the first half and trailed 44-23 after 20 minutes.
The Colonels made 28 of 37 free throws, while CC converted on eight of 14 attempts.
Centre improved to 12-6 overall and 7-3 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Tigers slipped to 11-7 overall and 5-5 in conference play.
Colorado College plays host to DePauw University on Saturday at 6 p.m.
