Aldaz drives Tigers past Johnson & Wales

Alyssa Aldaz scored a career-high 32 points to lead Colorado College to a 74-67 victory over Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday night at the Wildcat Center in Denver. 

The Tigers overcame a 39-32 halftime deficit to improve to 8-4 overall. JWU dropped to 2-16.

Aldaz made 13 of 20 shots from the floor and eight of 12 free throws. Her previous high was 16 points during CC's 88-74 victory over Piedmont College on Nov. 22.

Becky Luetjen recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds. She also dished out a career-high six assists.

Collier Clegg had 12 points to reach double figures for the sixth time this season.

The Tigers forced 17 turnovers and had a 24-10 advantage in rebounds while outscoring Johnson & Wales 42-28 during the second half.

JWU shot .556 from the floor in the first half, but made only 11 of 23 field goal attempts during the final 20 minutes.

Kadie Sinohui led the Wildcats with 27 points.

Colorado College plays host to Austin College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
