Sean Parham scored for the third time in four games, but Southwestern University struck for a pair of goals during the first five minutes, including one just 28 seconds into the contest, as the Pirates cruised to a 4-1 victory over Colorado College on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers dropped to 6-5-2 overall and 4-2-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after dropping back-to-back road games for the second time this season. SU improved to 7-4-0 overall and 4-0-0 in conference play.
Alex Keller had two goals and an assist to power the Pirate offense. He opened the scoring during the first minutes and added an insurance goal with just over 11 minutes remaining.
Andy McGhie had three of his four saves during the second half to give CC a chance to come back.
Parham broke up the shutout 8:41 into the second half when he converted off a pass from Matt Fechter that glanced off a Southwestern defender. It was his fifth point in the last six contests.
Nick Pierce stopped four of the Tigers' five shots on goal during the final 45 minutes when the Tigers launched 10 shots.
The Pirates finished with 16-13 advantage in total shots, while CC had a 9-8 edge in corner kicks.
Colorado College returns to action on Friday when the Tigers play host to Centre College under the lights on Washburn Field.
