Beginning a stretch during which they'll play six of their next eight games at the World Arena, the No. 19-ranked Tigers take on former mentor Don Lucia and the University of Minnesota in a big two-game series on their home ice Friday and Saturday.

Faceoff is 7:37 p.m. MT Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday.

CC is 3-2-1 overall and 1-1 in league play this season after splitting a pair of one-goal decisions at Minnesota State University last weekend. The Tigers bounced back for a 1-0 victory on Saturday after suffering a 5-4 setback to MSU in their WCHA opener on Friday.

Minnesota, 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the WCHA, also split last weekend. The 20th-ranked Gophers lost, 5-2, at St. Cloud State University on Friday but claimed a 2-1 triumph over SCSU at home on Sunday to snap a three-game skid.

Friday's contest marks the 250th meeting between the teams in a rivalry that started on Feb. 27, 1947. Minnesota owns a 158-84-7 advantage in the previous 249 after sweeping a pair of decisions at Mariucci Arena on the UM campus last February. CC, however, is 11-9 in 20 all-time encounters with the Gophers at the CSWA after recording a 4-3, 5-3 sweep in the last series between the teams there late during the 2008-09 campaign.
