An old nemesis returned to haunt Colorado College on Friday.
Despite out-shooting the University of Texas-El Paso by a 24-15 margin, the Tigers concluded their season with a 4-0 loss to the Miners at Washburn Field.
The victory avenged a 5-2 defeat at CC's hands a year ago and gave the Miners a 5-3 advantage in the all-time rivalry between the teams.
Colorado College had 12 corner kicks to UTEP's one, but the Tigers were unable to convert. Goalkeeper Chandra Morden made 11 saves while recording the shutout.
CC, 8-7-4 overall, finishes 4-6-1 in Conference USA play. This marked the Tigers' 32nd winning season in 36 years as a varsity program.
UTEP improved to 11-8-0 overall and 4-7-0 in league play.
The Miners opened the scoring when Azia Nicholson slipped a rebound past CC keeper
Caitlin Hulyo just 19 minutes into the match.
They took a 2-0 lead in the 59th minute when Katie Dorman took a pass from Tess Hall and found the back of the net. The visitors added another goal when Brittany Kindzierski scored on a breakaway 12 minutes later.
Dorman finished the scoring with her second goal of the game with six minutes to play. That goal also came off a pass from Hall.
