After a 12-day hiatus from league play that included no competition at all last weekend, well-rested Colorado College hits the road for the first of three remaining regular-season series this week.
The Tigers, still in the driver's seat for a home-ice playoff berth in mid-March, take on the University of Minnesota in a pair of televised WCHA matchups at Mariucci Arena on the UM campus. Faceoff is 6:07 p.m. (CT) Friday and 3:07 p.m. (CT) Saturday.
The series opener will be telecast live on the
Big Ten Network. Saturday's series finale will be produced live by
Fox Sports Net North, and will air on a taped-delay basis on
FSN Rocky Mountain, starting at 4:30 p.m. MT.
Seventh-ranked CC, which improved to 17-10-3 overall after defeating Air Force (2-0) and Mercyhurst College (5-3) in non-conference action at the World Arena two weekends ago, currently is fifth in the WCHA standings with an 11-8-3 mark and 25 points in league play. The Tigers lead sixth-place North Dakota by four points, and are four behind third-place Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State.
Minnesota, which lost twice (3-1, 5-1) at league-leading University of Denver last week, is 13-15-2 overall and 8-12-2 in WCHA play. The Gophers are tied with Alaska Anchorage for seventh place in the WCHA standings, but have played two fewer conference games than the Seawolves.
Colorado College heads into the weekend with a three-game winning streak.
