View complete weekly press release »

Embarking on its second trip of the season to the Great White North, Colorado College begins the second half of its 2010-11 league schedule this weekend with a two-game WCHA series against the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Faceoff is 7:07 p.m. (AT) Friday and Saturday on the Olympic-size ice sheet at Sullivan Arena (6,206 seating capacity) as CC takes on the Seawolves for the fourth and fifth times this season.

Both games will be televised live in Southern Colorado, starting at 9 p.m. MT, on KXTU The CW 57 (Comcast channel 7 in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, as well as 4 in Trinidad); DirecTV, DISH and over-the-air on channels 57 and 21.2; Bresnan Cable channel 12 for Canon City, LaJunta and Walsenburg; Baja Broadband channel 15 on Fort Carson; and Peterson Broadband channel 7 on Peterson AFB).

Idle since splitting a pair of decisions at the Great Lakes Invitational on Dec. 29 and 30, the 17th-ranked Tigers currently are fifth in the WCHA standings with an 8-6 record after winning seven of their last nine decisions in conference play.

They're 12-9-1 overall and currently No. 16 in the computerized Pairwise rankings, which simulate the selection process for the NCAA post-season tournament's 16-team field.

This week marks the last out-of-state road trip until Feb. 18-19 for Colorado College, which now is scheduled to play every weekend through mid-March, when the league playoffs begin. Seven of CC's next eight games are at home after the trip to Alaska.
