By his own admission, Rylan Schwartz is not big on superstition.  

But after a night that saw his team launch 39 shots on goal – 13 in each period – Colorado College's No. 13 may be tempted to reconsider.

Schwartz completed his first career hat trick as a Tiger midway through the third period Saturday, snapping a 4-4 deadlock and fueling CC to a come-from-behind 6-4 victory over Bemidji State University in front of a jam-packed homecoming crowd of 7,595 at the World Arena.

It was a very unlucky turnabout for the visiting Beavers, who seized the lead four different times before the junior center from Wilcox, Saskatchewan, drove in the stake that deflated their bid for a series split.

The 2-0 Tigers, who also won by a 3-1 count on Friday, remain tied for first place with Michigan Tech and Minnesota in the early WCHA standings after all three teams recorded two-game sweeps on opening weekend of league play.

BSU, 1-3 overall, got go-ahead goals from Shea Walters, Drew Fisher, Ben Kinne and Illo Radoslav – all against sophomore netminder Josh Thorimbert in the first two periods.

Colorado College battled back each time, pulling even on a pair of Schwartz red lighters sandwiched between tallies by sophomore winger Jeff Collett and senior center Nick Dineen.

Dineen's tap-in of a Joe Marciano pass from the right boards tied the contest for the last time at 5:45 of the third frame before Schwartz beat Beavers goaltender Matheiu Dugas high on the stick side with a wrist shot from the slot at the 10:19 mark.  

Junior Joe Howe, who replaced Thorimbert between the pipes for the final 20 minutes, stopped all 11 Bemidji State shots he faced to preserve the victory. Thorimbert finished with 14 saves, while Dugas steered away 33 of the 38 CC attempts that reached him.

Sophomore left wing Jaden Schwartz, who also collected a pair of assists including one on his older brother's game winner, sealed the triumph with an empty-net goal at 19:27.

Junior forward Scott Winkler also helped set up Rylan Schwartz's third goal to cap a career-best three-assist performance. In addition, Winkler led both teams with seven shots on target.  

Radoslav, a sophomore left wing and the only NHL draftee on Bemidji's roster, added a pair of assists to lead the Beavers with his first three points of the season.
