Freshman ties CC record in 60 meters

Hayden posts an 8.56 at Mines twilight meet

What a great way to usher out the indoor season!

Freshman Molly Hayden tied a three-year-old school record on Friday, running the 60-meter dash in 8.56 seconds at the Colorado School of Mines Twilight Invitational in Golden.

Her time was exactly the same as the Colorado College indoor standard established in 2008 by Brittney Moore. Hayden also finished sixth in the 400 meters, clocking in at 1:09.44.

Other CC highlights at Friday's meet included a seventh-place showing in the triple jump (34 feet, 1 1/2 inches) by senior tri-captain Hannah Concannon, who also took 12th in the long jump (163 3/4). Concannon's effort in the latter event tied her personal indoor best.

Sophomore Charis Whitnah claimed 12th place in the mile (6:46.87) while Louisa Tur, another of the team's senior tri-captains, was 12th in the 3K (12:02.85).

The Tigers open their outdoor season at the University of Colorado Potts Invitational on March 19.
