View complete weekly press release »

Colorado College resumes league play for the first time in nearly a month this weekend when the No. 8-ranked Tigers take on St. Cloud State University in a pair of WCHA match-ups at the World Arena.

Faceoff is 7:37 p.m. MT Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday.

Third-place CC needs to rediscover its touch around the net, as well as its winning formula on home ice, after scoring only seven goals and recording just one victory (1-2-1) in the first four outings of its current six-game stand there that reaches a conclusion this weekend.

The Huskies, 8-10-4 overall and 5-6-3 in the WCHA, currently are tied with Michigan Tech for seventh place in the league standings.

Colorado College, 12-7-1 overall and 9-5 in conference play, has won three consecutive WCHA outings and four of its last five.

The upcoming series marks unranked St. Cloud State's first trip to Colorado Springs in two years, since late January 2010, when the teams split a pair of decisions. While the Tigers own an all-time edge of 44-31-6 in 81 previous meetings overall between the teams, SCSU is a respectable 11-12-2 in 25 enounters at the World Arena since the venue opened midway through the 1997-98 season.

Despite losing (3-1) and tying (3-3) against Cornell University last week, Colorado College is tied for ninth in the computerized Pairwise rankings that simulate the selection process for the 16-team NCAA playoffs. After this weekend, CC doesn't play at home again until starting its 2011-12 stretch drive against archrival University of Denver on Saturday, Feb. 4.
