Tigers drop season opener at George Fox

Box Score Sophomore forward Chris Lesnansky poured in a career-high 24 points, but Colorado College dropped a 63-58 decision at George Fox University in the season opener for both teams on Friday night.
 
Lesnansky tied the game at 52-52 when he knocked down a jumper with 3:28 to play, but the Bruins took the lead for good on a layup by Spencer Bolte with 2:09 to remaining and A.J. Grant gave the hosts a five-point lead when he drained a three-pointer 35 seconds later.

The Tigers trailed by 11 points after Sean Atkins scored 58 seconds into the second half. CC battled back to take a 42-40 lead when sophomore guard Doug Pierce connected from behind the arc with 12:09 to go.

Junior guard Ryan Milne finished with 11 points and four assists. He climbed into 10th place on the program's all-time list with 222 assists.

Senior forward Ian Rewoldt grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds and recorded six points and four assists.

Atkins paced GFU's balanced attack with 14 points. Jason Martin and Grant added 12 points apiece.  

The Bon Appetit/Northwest Conference Men's Basketball Tip-Off Classic continues on Saturday when the Tigers take on Lewis and Clark College in Salem, Ore.
