Tigers fall short to Centenary, 61-57

Box Score Colorado College's attempted comeback fell short as Centenary College beat the Tigers, 61-57, Friday evening in Shreveport, La.
 
The Ladies held their largest lead of the game midway through the second half when Vashni Sharp-Moore drained a three-pointer to give Centenary a 47-37 lead with 9:48 remaining in the game.
 
CC clawed its way back when freshman Danielle Davies hit two free throws to spark a 10-0 run and tie the game after senior Kalli Kemling completed a three-point play after being fouled on her made layup with 6:48 left in the game.
 
That was as close as the Tigers would get as the Ladies closed out the game on a 14-10 run.
 
Centenary led the entire first half and went into halftime with a 24-20 advantage.  
 
Kemling led CC with 15 points and five steals and added eight rebounds on defense. Senior Sarah Gunkel earned a double-double with 14 points and a team-high 12 rebounds.
 
The Ladies (4-13, 3-5 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) were led by Rebecca Thompson, Dionecia Warr, and Sharp-Moore who all scored 14 points offensively. Brianna Edwards led the team on the boards with 11 rebounds.
 
Colorado College (3-14, 3-4 SCAC) plays at Austin College on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Sherman, Texas.
